NASA discovers golden planet with iron rain in the middle of the universe

NASA and astronomers have just announced the discovery of a special exoplanet called WASP-79b, located about 800 light years from Earth. Far from the blue Earth, this planet possesses a bright yellow sky and a rare phenomenon of iron rain, opening up many new questions about the diversity of atmospheres in the universe.

WASP-79b
Outstanding features of WASP-79b

Golden sky: Due to the composition of gases and particles in the atmosphere creating a special reflection effect, the light in the sky on WASP-79b is not blue but turns to a unique yellow color.

Iron rain: The atmosphere expands and the extremely high temperature causes iron to evaporate, then condenses into metal droplets that fall like an iron rain.

Extreme temperature: Average about 1,650°C, too hot for liquid water or life as we know it.

Huge size: Twice as large as Jupiter and orbiting its host star in just 3.7 Earth days.

Significance of the discovery

According to scientists, the structure and atmospheric physics of WASP-79b do not fit any existing theoretical models, forcing astronomers to reconsider their understanding of hot gas giants. In addition, its extreme environment is also a “natural laboratory” for studying the formation and evolution of planets close to their host stars.

Summary information

Attribute Value Planet name WASP-79b Distance~800 light years Mass~2 × Jupiter Orbital period 3.7 days Average temperature~1,650°C Sky color Yellow Special phenomenon Iron rain

Conclusion:

WASP-79b is a living testament to the strangeness and diversity of worlds outside the Solar System.  The magical yellow color of the sky combined with the iron rain makes this planet one of NASA's most impressive discoveries in recent times, promising to open up many breakthrough studies about the universe.

Northern Hemisphere Warming Faster Than Southern Hemisphere

Causes and Latest Data

Modern climate studies confirm that the Northern Hemisphere is warming faster than the Southern Hemisphere – a trend that has been consistently recorded for decades.

Scientists say there are four main reasons for this:

Unbalanced land-ocean distribution

About 68% of the Earth's land area is in the Northern Hemisphere. Land absorbs and releases heat faster than the ocean, making this region more sensitive to climate change.

The Ice Effect

The Northern Hemisphere has huge ice fields such as the Arctic and Greenland. When ice melts, darker surfaces (land, sea) are exposed, absorbing more heat, creating a positive feedback loop that accelerates warming.

Climate Characteristics of the Southern Hemisphere

The Southern Hemisphere is 80% ocean, which helps absorb and disperse heat more slowly, thereby reducing the rate of surface temperature increase.

Ocean Currents and Monsoons

Major ocean currents such as the Gulf Stream transport huge amounts of heat northward. Combined with monsoon systems and atmospheric circulation, more heat is transported to the northern polar regions.

According to data from NASA GISS and NOAA, the average temperature of the Northern Hemisphere has increased by about 1.4–1.6°C since the late 19th century, while the Southern Hemisphere has only increased by about 0.8–1.0°C during the same period.

This phenomenon is raising concerns about the rate of ice melting in the Arctic, rising sea levels and extreme climate fluctuations that may occur in the near future.

Galaxy Art: Gate of Eternity – Where Light Bends and Time

Galaxy Art: “The Gate of Eternity” is so vivid.

The center of a giant elliptical gate, made of sparkling crystal fragments, like cosmic glass, is bending the surrounding light.

The universe swirls in blue - purple - black, dotted with silver galaxies and pale pink star clusters.

Lighting effects: Yellow and white rays of light are attracted and bent around the gate, forming an Einstein halo like a giant gravitational lens.

Inside the gate is another scene - maybe a city flying among the clouds, or a sea of golden stars flowing like a river.

Mysterious, majestic, both poetic and sci-fi.           Galaxy Art: The Gate of Eternity – Where the Light Bends and Time Whispering have already shown a strong poetic – cosmic – metaphysical quality.

If I turn it into a work, I imagine it will have three layers of meaning:

Visual image (Galaxy Art)

A giant gate floating in the middle of a swirling nebula, created from circles of light that bend like water being sucked into a black hole.

The light does not go straight, but curves in surreal curves, creating the feeling that time is slowing down.

Colors: blue – purple – gold, suggesting immortality and mystery.

Philosophical meaning

The Gate of Eternity is not just a point in space, but the border between two states of existence: before and after crossing the threshold of time.

The bending light symbolizes the change of perception when reaching the limit of understanding.

Time Whispering is the echo of memories and possibilities that have not happened, blending together like an endless loop.

In the heart of the cosmic night, where the Milky Way flows like a silent silver river,

The Gate of Eternity stands tall like an unchanging destiny.

Light, swept up by the breath of ancient black holes, bends into sparkling refractions,

And time – which seems eternal – is only a vague whisper in the ears of travelers who dare to set foot here.

The Universe's Biggest Monster CAPERS-LRD-z9 Is a Supermassive Black Hole

The oldest monster in the universe is the supermassive black hole at the center of the ancient galaxy CAPERS-LRD-z9, located about 13.3 billion light-years away, when the universe was only about 500 million years old (nearly 3% of its current age)—a groundbreaking discovery in the field of early cosmology.

Photo image SKYLIT STUDIO

Highlights of the discovery:

This "monster" black hole has an estimated mass of about 300 million times that of the Sun, equivalent to nearly half the total mass of stars in its host galaxy.

The CAPERS-LRD-z9 galaxy belongs to the group of super-red dots (“Little Red Dots”), mysterious galaxies that are very small, bright red—common in the first 1.5 billion years of the universe.

Why is it a "monster"?

The existence of such an early supermassive black hole calls into question theories about the formation and growth of early black holes: did they grow much faster, or did they form from an already massive parent body?.

Announcement time: Early 2025, through a scientific announcement from an international research team coordinated by NASA and ESA.

Tools used: James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) and Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS).

Star system: These planets are located in star systems 40 to 100 light years from Earth, mainly in the constellations Cygnus and Cancer.

Provisional designation:

Kepler-186f II

TOI-715c

LHS 1140 d

GLI ESOPIANETI DELLA STELLA LHS 1140 VIDEO

Characteristics of the three planets:

Planet Radius from Earth Distance from star Location of habitable zone Possibility of atmosphere Kepler-186f II~1.1x Sufficient for liquid water Signs TOI-715c~0.95x In the Goldilocks zone Under study LHS 1140 d~1.2x Marginal habitable zone Possible CO₂ and water vapor

Significance for planetary science and habitability.

The planets are all in the “habitable zone” – where temperatures are neither too hot nor too cold for liquid water to exist.

Some planets show signs of stable atmospheres, greenhouse gases, and possibly chemical traces of life such as methane, ozone, or water vapor.

NASA and ESA scientists plan to conduct intensive spectroscopic observations in 2025–2027. The goal is to confirm whether these planets could actually support life, or could potentially be habitable in the distant future.

Planet that can support life discovered 35 light years from Earth in the galaxy

Scientists have just confirmed a potentially habitable planet located about 35 light years from Earth: L98‑59f, part of the L98‑59 red dwarf system. This is the fifth planet discovered in this star system and is located in the habitable zone of its host star (Phys.org).

Highlights of L98‑59f

Highlights of L98‑59f

Minimum mass is about 2.8 times that of Earth, classified as a super‑Earth.

Near-circular orbit with a period of about 23 Earth days, receiving the same amount of energy as Earth from the Sun.

Since it does not transit (does not pass in front of its host star as viewed from Earth), this planet was discovered using extremely precise centromere velocity measurements, using data from the HARPS and ESPRESSO telescopes (Space).

This is a very diverse planetary system—it includes sub‑Earths, water‑worlds, and super‑Earths—which provide excellent opportunities to study a wide range of potential environments.

Could L98‑59f support life?

L98‑59f receives the same amount of stellar radiation as Earth, so if it had the right atmosphere and surface temperature, it could sustain liquid water, which is necessary for life as we know it. However, there is no confirmation of an atmosphere or specific atmospheric composition yet.

Next steps in the research

Scientists are using the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) to learn more about the atmospheric composition and the possibility of biosignatures on the planet.

The L98‑59 system is considered one of the closest and most diverse, making it ideal for comparing small rocky planets and studying the ability to retain atmospheres around red dwarfs—a common environment in the Milky Way (Phys.org).

Characteristics Parameters Distance~35 light years Host Star Red dwarf L98‑59Planet name L98‑59f Mass~2.8 times that of Earth (super‑Earth)Orbital period~23 Earth days Habitable zone Yes, receives the same amount of energy as Earth Detection mechanism Measurement of radial velocity, no transits Is there liquid water? Possible if there is a suitable atmos phere Follow-up Atmos pheric observations and biosigna tures via JWST

Why is this discovery important?

The L98‑59 system is a prime example of the diversity of planetary systems around red dwarfs, helping to expand our understanding of the potential for life in different conditions outside the Solar System (Space, Phys.org, www.ndtv.com, Space, Wikipedia).

The identification of a planet in the habitable zone without using the transit method represents the advancement of modern astronomical techniques such as HARPS‑ESPRESSO combined with return data analysis (Phys.org).

It is a prime candidate for atmospheric studies and testing the hypothesis of life due to its relatively close proximity and the ability to observe with JWST.
