Open AI Launches GPT-5: Stronger, Smarter – But Not Completely Free. On August 7, 2025, OpenAI officially introduced GPT-5, its latest and most powerful AI model ever. This technology is being gradually deployed to ChatGPT users at Free, Plus, Pro, Team and Enterprise/Edu levels.

However, contrary to some information circulating, GPT-5 is not completely free. Free package users can still experience GPT-5, but the number of queries is limited. When the limit is reached, the system will automatically switch to GPT-5 mini – a lighter, lower-performance version.

Paid packages such as Plus and Pro bring many outstanding benefits. In particular, the Pro package (about 200 USD/month) allows access to GPT-5 Pro – a version with deeper inference capabilities, faster response speed and lower error rate.

Despite its high praise, GPT-5 is far from perfect. Several sources (Axios, The Washington Post) reported that the model still made mistakes in basic tasks like math and geographic information, causing OpenAI to receive mixed reviews shortly after its launch. 

Conclusion: GPT-5 is a huge step forward for artificial intelligence, but free users only have a limited experience. To fully exploit the power of GPT-5, especially for complex tasks, users will need to upgrade to the Plus or Pro plan.
