Goddess Saraswati is the symbol of knowledge, art and music in Hindu mythology. Similar to other deities, Saraswati is also depicted with four arms and each hand holds a special item.
Goddess Saraswati is often depicted with stunning beauty and fair skin, often wearing a traditional white Sari representing purity. She always carries a Veena, a traditional Indian musical instrument, representing the art of music and knowledge. Saraswati is the wife of Lord Brahma. There is a legend that she was born from the sea and another legend that she was born from the mind of Lord Brahma. Goddess Saraswati is often worshiped in Indian festivals and rituals such as Basant Panchami and Navratri. Lakshmi is the goddess of wealth, prosperity, luck and beauty, and is also the wife of Vishnu.

She is often depicted sitting next to her husband massaging his feet (the archetype of a wife). Believers and non-believers alike pray to the name of Goddess Lakshmi because they believe she will bring luck and money to those who are unlucky or down on their luck. Lakshmi appears as a beautiful goddess with golden skin. She often wears red and gold clothes to represent prosperity. Lakshmi's four arms represent the four greatest concerns in life: justice, desire, financial control and liberation from the cycle of birth and death. From Lakshmi's hands often flow precious gold coins that she bestows upon those who pray to her.
