Special Podcast Reveal
Taylor teased the new album in a short Instagram video, excerpted from the New Heights podcast co-hosted by her boyfriend Travis Kelce and his brother Jason Kelce. In the clip, Taylor opens a mint green briefcase with the initials “T.S.” and introduced: “This is my new album, The Life of a Showgirl”. The album cover is still kept secret, only showing a blurry image with orange and green tones.
Musical style and production team
Different from the melancholy color of the previous album The Tortured Poets Department, The Life of a Showgirl promises to be a bright, vibrant project with bright, fun pop songs, as if written with “sparkling gel pen”. The album marks Taylor’s return to collaboration with two famous producers Max Martin and Shellback after a long time.
Promotional campaign and exclusive playlist
Taylor launched a Spotify playlist called And baby, that’s show business for you to “tease” the atmosphere of the album. She also ran ads on billboards in New York and Nashville, and shared a 12-photo set with orange outfits inspired by her previous tour.
Upcoming Events
On August 13, Taylor will be joining the New Heights podcast for a full episode to reveal more about the inspiration and writing process for the album.
For Swifties, this is definitely an event not to be missed. Check out Taylor Swift's official website to pre-order and stay up to date on the latest news about The Life of a Showgirl.
