Timeline 2025, in the very near future but technologically advanced enough — with landers developed by private companies like Firefly or Intuitive Machines.

A team of characters (robots or astronauts) pilot a lander to explore the Mare Crisium (cold sea) region a geologically prominent area that may contain signs of water ice. When the ship lands, the Earth appears not as a small dot of light, but in the lunar sky, it is a blue sphere alive, moving slowly creating a feeling of loneliness and sacredness. The Earth is there, like a distant home, reminding us of the roots of humanity.
Actual images from 2025 for reference.
Firefly Aerospace's Blue Ghost takes a "selfie" with the Earth looming behind it. Blue Ghost Mission 1 successfully soft-landed in Mare Crisium on March 2, 2025, and took some spectacular images before running out of power.
A lander (possibly Blue Ghost or Athena) has just touched down. The crew despite being a superior robot are still feeling their own emotions: excitement, anxiety, and anticipation.
Looking out the window at Earth an emotional sight. The soft blue light of the parent planet shines down on the gray surface a powerful contrast.
In the dim light, the team detects an anomaly: a slight movement of rocks, signs of water ice, or a never-before-seen natural structure? Or radar data from the mother station indicates an unusual heat source. An astronomical event such as an Earth-or-moon eclipse (or even a moon-or-moon eclipse) creates a magical light phenomenon that leaves the crew in awe.
They send data back to Earth the special “home” image forms a new perspective on home. The conclusion may be an open question: Do we really understand the Earth from afar… and ourselves?
The beautiful, verdant landscape of Earth, set against the deep moon sky is not just a backdrop, but a central emotional figure.
Inspiration from reality, Blue Ghost has successfully landed and photographed Earth in artistic form.
